Dior Fall 2009 Ready-to-wear

John Galliano found an easy compromise with a collection lightly based on the orientalism of Paul Poiret, an artistic Parisian craze dating back almost a century.
Obviously, this collection would go back to 1990s.

The main point of Galliano's device is that it gave access to the areas of harem pants, rich gilded brocades, and Asian influences in general, cheongsam fastenings, paisley prints, and those newly fashionable trousers.

In this collection, Galiano applies many reds, purples and yellows, which were the fortune colors in China. Asian influences is becoming more prominant in western fashion industry
the bacground is using yellow gold color, which is contrasting the colors of items, as most items are red and purple.

Compare to Dior couture 2009 and Spring 2009Ready -to-Wear ,
the color of this collection is more sharp, and also more colors are used.

There is scheme of complementary colors, red & grey are two contrast colors

Yellow & purple blue are also the complemntary colors.

they are also using the same color value, which brings out harmony.
the color red, yelow and purple are the fortune colors of chinese, which show the wealthness.
with contrasting with the background, the garments are so sharp, but also with hormony.

This set is using analogous & complementary color scheme,
which red & orange are two analogic colors, and purple is the complementary color

There is an order plan for the complementray colors, red & grey
In this collection, Galliano keeps on using colors with differnt intensity to provide different contrasting effect and also bring out harmony. I believe the use of different color intensiy will still appear in the coming collection.
